Desired skillset and background: Agile Scrum and Kanban experience; adaptable to change; collaborative, problem solving, innovative and extreme ownership mindset; team player and open to different perspectives and approaches to setting goals and achieving results.Although a programming background is desired, the business analyst skillset would be more heavily weightedLocation: Anchorage, AK or Glendale, AZPosition Status: W2 - Contract to Hire (no 1099 or C2C)Business/Programmer AnalystPrimary Functions:

Assist in researching, analyzing and preparing recommendations for new software application systems, system enhancements and evaluation of new technologies. Ensure the integrity of new systems and systems changes through preparation and execution of test plans and the preparation and maintenance system documentation and manuals.

Solves complex programming and analysis tasks in the accomplishment of stated business objectives. Assists with planning, organizing, controlling, and reporting on complex projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop a working knowledge of Credit Union applications systems features and capabilities.

Act as a liaison between MIS and other departments to assist in the analysis of technical/operational problems, development of recommendations and presentation of findings to department management.

May act as project lead to coordinate the development and implementation of small to medium size projects.

Prepare and maintain application system documentation and manuals.

Prepare and execute test plans for system changes and new application systems.

Develop knowledge of current and emerging technologies and best practices.

May assist in the preparation of business proposals for the evaluation and selection of application systems, development of system enhancements and acquisition of new technologies.

Solve complex programming and integration issues involving multiple platforms and departments.

Provides leadership, work direction, consulting support, problem resolution and technical training to other personnel in developing and maintaining complex applications.

Develop project plans and control activities based on satisfying client and service requirements.

Make recommendations and develop integrated application systems that improve operating efficiency and quality control.

Assists in the development of requirement documents and business proposals.

Prepares project status reporting.

May provide work direction and training to other programmer analysts.

Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of current and emerging applications, technologies and standards through continuing education, reviewing technical publications, and participating in professional associations.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of team efforts and results.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related field or equivalent technical training in lieu of education.

Three years experience in an MIS and/or a user department in a technical/professional role.

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.

Six years in a Programmer Analyst position and two years in the development and maintenance of complex applications across multiple platforms.

Demonstrated proficiency in systems methodology, application development and analysis as well as with programming languages such as VB.NET, ASP.NET, Visual Basic, C# and JAVA and common programming utilities used in a Microsoft or J2EE environment.

Proficient in the use of databases and report writers.

Familiarity with basic systems analysis methods and techniques.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Good organizational skills.

Experience with financial environments desired.
