Navista, a Cardinal Health company, is an oncology practice alliance co-created with oncologists and practice leaders that offers advanced support services and technology to help practices remain independent and thrive.​ True to our name, our experienced team is passionate about helping oncology practices navigate the future.As the Senior Director, Operations, you will be responsible for oversight of practice operations for multiple practices in Navista. This role oversees and directly manages practice leaders across various functional areas including administrative, clinical, human resources, practice marketing, finance, IT and compliance. You will serve as point contact for physician leaders and physician board regarding all areas of practice management and operations. This leader has primary responsibility to manage and drive practice P&L in accordance to approved budget and growth targets. You will also collaborate with Navista functional teams and partnered vendors to realize Navista commitments and service levels for the practice.The Senior Director, Operations will be a seasoned leader and advisor, with proven experience partnering with clinicians in oncology and across multiple therapeutic areas. A key area of focus will be translating Navista’s value proposition to the practices through the execution of operational services. The Senior Director, Network Operations will need to be customer centric and able to work both upstream and downstream. This leader will have a strong bias for action and process improvement. Expertise will be needed in the following areas: practice operations, revenue cycle management, patient growth and practice marketing, value-based care, payor relations, EHR, clinical operations, and awareness of regulatory environments.This position reports to the VP, Operations for Navista.This is a remote, work from home role with travel up to 70%.ResponsibilitiesPractice Operations

Serves as the regional operations leader to provide direction and support for the on-going development of assigned oncology practices. Develop and drive practice financial and operational performance

In partnership with key practice administrative/clinical teams, Navista support teams, and physicians, conceives and develops strategy, promotes operational standards, and ensures Navista services are coordinated across the practices.

With the practice leadership and Navista functional leaders develops, implements, and oversees operational & clinical programs and strategies designed to assure cost-effective, high-quality delivery of care for patients.

Works with the regional finance leader and other stakeholders to prepare and manage practice operating and capital budgets. Lead efforts for improvement of practice profitability.

Owns, leads and manages all operational initiatives, P&Ls/financials, and operation team members for assigned practice/s. Directs the management of financial plans, resources, and budgets.

Represents Navista on practice physician board meetings. May organize, coordinate and lead physician board meetings for the practice/s.

Determines staffing needs for multiple practice departments. Oversees processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all practice staff. Directs the management of human resources, compliance, employee, and safety/risk management functions.

Develops short and long-term operational strategies and top-line growth initiatives and goals in partnership with practice administrative and clinical leaders, Navista functional support teams and physician boards. Leads the execution of those goals to achieve measurable outcomes in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Will assist the facilities’ evaluation and purchase of diagnostic and treatment equipment, ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity and delivery of care.

Oversees clinical and operational workflow improvement initiatives in collaboration with practices, physicians and Navista support teams. Including implementation of systems, processes, and methods to evaluate and improve patient care.

Responsible for the ongoing effectiveness of programs and strategies which are integrated with business plans and meet or exceed cost, quality, clinical and utilization standards, and performance measures.

Oversees Identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical guidelines and education for patient care. Supports operationalizing measures in compliance with the guidelines.

Ensures the effective and efficient delivery of services by the practice operations, vendors and Navista support teams (such as patient access & registration, prior auth, medical Records, scheduling, nurse navigation, scribe etc.)

Manages development and maintenance of operational dashboards including revenue cycle metrics, patient statistics, physician, and staff productivity data (wRVUs, clinic/hospital visits, etc.), financial data, referral trends, patient volumes etc.

Leadership & Communication

Timely & effective communication with physician and Navista leadership around practice performance, challenges, opportunities, and other relevant topics

Develops practice talent including leveraging training and education opportunities for practice resources.

Effectively manages physician leadership expectations as it relates to all practice needs.

Participates in the communication of budgetary and financial topics to physician and Navista stakeholders.

Maintains knowledge of current business and clinical practices in cancer services including, multidisciplinary clinics, infusion center operations/flow, pharmacy/chemotherapy order entry, surgical oncology, and radiation oncology.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred

15+ years’ work experience in healthcare or related organizations preferred

Previous working experience in leadership roles for10+ years in physician offices or related organizations. Oncology experience preferred.

Previous experience owning P&L and managing budgets. Proven track record of managing practice financial performance

Prior experience managing teams. Demonstrated leadership and team building skills

Process improvement experience desirable.

Prior experience managing physician board meetings preferred.

Previous experience leading operations within healthcare related organization

Knowledge and implementation of regulatory requirements and laws that govern clinic activities.

Outstanding organizational and time management skills

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

Great communication and presentation skills

Problem-solving mindset

Ability to travel as needed (up to 70%)
