Shipping Supervisor

POSITION OVERVEW & PURPOSE:

Plan, direct, and coordinate daily activities for Shipping operations which include daily/hourly quality checks on production output. Direct reports include all Shipping and Paint personnel. Weekly/monthly requirements for shipping reporting in team and leadership meetings. Closely collaborate with the Leadership Team to address and resolve Shipping department issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Prioritize and assign responsibilities to team members to achieve output goals; monitor workflow to ensure attainment of goals. Set clear daily objectives and communicate them to your team (huddles).

Establish standards and procedures for the effective analysis and documentation of Shipping and Paint process requirements.

Provide supplemental help to Shipping and Paint personnel as needed to maintain output goals and standards.

Mentor Shipping and Paint personnel in their professional growth and assist with the onboarding/training process of new team members & temps on the safe use of equipment, following Shipping and/or Paint processes, and safety procedures/protocols.

Support The Mesker Way, FUNdamentals, and lead by example.

Support Leadership Team to ensure goal attainment and personal development.

Communicate with Human Resources about any recruitment opportunities and vacancies.

Encourage positive behavior and team safety through adherence to and enforcement of safety guidelines, company policies and continuous improvement.

Maintain discipline and consistent practices across team; provide progressive discipline where appropriate; engage human resources as needed.

Provide a team-oriented environment where every team member can be seen, be heard and feel connected.

Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership Team.

Your team requires your supervision for the duration of the production shift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

May be required to lift to 75 pounds repetitively.

May be required to push and/or pull carts up to 75 pounds.

Must use and be able to work with required PPE.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

The noise level of the warehouse is moderate to loud.

Uphold all safety standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Must be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions and standard work tickets.

Must possess basic computer skills, basic math skills required, proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.

Must be able to work independently as well as in a group environment.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Must demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.

Good organizational skills related to managing paperwork and time.
