12423BRTitle:Sr. Specialist, IT Database Applications (Contract to Hire)Job Description:Serve as the owner for managing and maintaining database platforms, as well as a technical contributor to the implementation and/or enhancement of various software applications and business reports utilized across the organization. Ensure the smooth operation and integrity of databases while meeting performance, availability, and security requirements. Consult with business users to define functional requirements and business process design. Perform technical analysis and software configuration tasks required to fulfill business requirements. Job duties:

Perform all aspects of SQL database administration and management, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of database systems.

Design, develop, and implement database structures, schemas, and tables to support efficient and scalable data storage and retrieval. Optimize database performance by monitoring resource utilization, implementing performance tuning techniques, and conducting regular database performance analysis.

Serve as key technical role in various stages of software implementation and enhancement projects.

Collaborate with other application owners and integration architects to design and implement integrations with other systems such as SAP, QMS, etc.

Consult with IT and functional business users/departments for requirements gathering and definition, design, and system development/configuration. Adhere to established project management methodology and framework.

Create and maintain customized business reporting tools used to support business intelligence and decision-making within functional groups including Finance, Sales/Marketing, Quality/Regulatory and Operations.

Provide support for software testing and validation efforts to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements.

Work within established change control procedures to ensure proposed changes to applications and business reports are analyzed and evaluated for business impact, tested, promoted, and implemented.

Enforce and maintain application security in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsible for day-to-day user support and system and database administration.

Provide ad-hoc training to system users and IT staff related to business applications.

Support and assist IT support staff with ongoing technical tasks including routine helpdesk and other activities as required.

Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Business, or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum seven (7) years of relevant work experience in performing database administration and supporting various business systems and applications.

General knowledge of auditable application development, data management, and system security requirements within the enterprise.

Good understanding of organizational goals, objectives, and business processes.

Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to creatively solve technical challenges using available toolsets.

Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented and organized.

Ability to independently follow tasks from inception to completion.

Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Desired Qualifications

Strong experience with day-to-day management of SQL database servers and performing database administration tasks. Knowledge of relational database concepts. Strong SQL (MS T-SQL) query skills, including creation/maintenance of table, view and stored procedure objects.

Experience with business reporting tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), or other business intelligence tools. Familiarity utilizing MS Excel to analyze/manipulate data and connect to external data using various methods of data connections.

Familiarity with common business application concepts and software systems including enterprise resource planning (ERP), quality management systems (QMS), product lifecycle data management (PLM), workflow systems, mobile software technology, and other web-based business applications.

Knowledge and experience with standard technologies such as HTML, CSS, scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, etc.), application security, and MS Windows server operating systems.

Ability to research and provide solutions for system and/or application issues, troubleshoot software issues, work effectively with IT staff, technical consultants, and business users.
