About the Role & ProgramAs an intern on the Disneyland Resort Public Relations Team, you will get to share exciting Disney news with journalists around the world! In this one-of-a-kind role, you'll be immersed in all facets of PR – from media relations, writing, and events, to the business behind the magic – things like strategy, integrated communications, and, of course, showcasing success. Expect more than your usual internship - This is outstanding stuff and a learning experience like no other!What You Will Do:
Support PR efforts that build awareness of new and existing developments at the Disneyland Resort intending to drive visitation.
Draft and fact-check blog stories, pitches, press releases, and photo captions, plus review and provide feedback on produced videos.
Tap into your storytelling ability to ideate engaging, timely, and accurate media assets, story angles, and content.
Assist publicists in their local, national, and international media relations with product/event awareness and inquiries.
Monitor news landscape, online conversation, and media coverage on an ongoing basis. Develop media coverage reports and event recaps.
Work with different lines of businesses – such as park and resort operations, food & beverage, and merchandise – and with other communication teams like Public Affairs, Marketing Strategy, and social media.
Assist with project management and help sustain various PR reporting and tracking documents, ensuring they are kept up to date. Examples include editorial calendars, project timelines, and status/assignment trackers.
Assist in maintaining the Disneyland Resort media resource site, Disneylandnews.com.
Support a wide variety of media visits, familiarization tours, press events, plus video/photo shoots.
Required Qualifications:
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal clear expression.
Familiarity with both Associated Press and SEO writing styles.
Previous internship/experience working in Public Relations, Journalism, or Communications.
Experience reporting/writing/editing with a student and/or professional news outlet or PR agency (broadcast or print-digital) and/or writing press materials.
Ability to engage with diverse media; provide assets (photos/videos), pitch stories, and host media at special events.
Close awareness and attention to media conversation, industry landscape, and pop culture trends.
Experience in creating copy and/or content for digital/social media.
Flexibility to work various hours, including early mornings and evenings.
Computer proficiency within a Windows or MAC environment (both preferred).
Experience in Microsoft Office suite and Keynote or other presentation software.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and sharp attention to detail.
Adept at adhering to timelines and working independently with a flexible and adaptable approach.
Shown understanding of Disney property and products (with emphasis on the Disneyland Resort).
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with media-tracking systems (i.e. Cision, Muck Rack)
Familiarity with project management tools and software (i.e. Monday.com, Smartsheet)
Experience in graphic design, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity with content management systems (i.e., WordPress)
Familiarity with the creative process for photography and video
Experience driving media coverage and developing summary reports.
Education
Be an undergraduate or a recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date) pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Media Relations, or a related major.
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025
This internship is located in Anaheim, CA; candidates should be receptive to providing their own transportation and housing for the duration of the internship

Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
You are expected to work FULL-TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) during the internship.
