Job Title: Lead Software EngineerOverview:We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our Disney Experiences (DX) Technology & Digital team and play a key role in the delivery and optimization of technology solutions for hotels within our organization. Reporting to the Manager of Hotel Technology Delivery and Sustainment, the Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for leading design, development, and implementation of innovative software solutions tailored to the needs of our hotel properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, team leadership, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance the guest experience in the hospitality industry.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership:

Lead software engineering efforts in the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions for hotels, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, systems engineering, and operations, to define technical requirements and priorities.

Software Development:

Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions that meet the needs of hotel properties and align with business objectives.

Implement SaaS vendor product integration, cloud integration, and application integration.

Utilize modern software development methodologies and tools to drive efficiency and productivity within the engineering team.

Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices to ensure code quality and consistency.

System Architecture:

Architect and design robust and scalable software systems that integrate with existing hotel technology infrastructure, including property management systems (PMS) and multiple backend systems.

Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to identify opportunities for enhancing the hotel technology stack and driving innovation.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Communicate project status, technical challenges, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on designing and building complex, distributed systems.

Proven experience (5 years) in a leadership role, with a track record of successfully leading software engineering teams.

Expertise in programming languages such as Java and JavaScript (Nodejs) as well as modern web development frameworks (e.g., Angular).

Expert-level knowledge of microservices, RESTful web services and APIs.

Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
