Description Robert Half is looking for a candidate to support a department as an Accounting Clerk. In this position as an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). Square up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Assemble documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
Aid Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing
Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
Post financial information to journals and ledgers
Requirements - Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Non-profit fund accounting experience
Accounts Payable (AP) experience required
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Excellent data entry skills
3+ years of relevant experience
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred
