AECOM is seeking a highly talented and motivated Civil Engineer to join our Central California team. The new position will support the growth of the Central California Department, whose work emphasis is on meeting the engineering needs of our local Special District and Municipal clients, as well as supporting other Regions within the Water Business Line.  We are seeking an individual with technical, project management, and business development experience in water/wastewater and other civil engineering projects.  Typical responsibilities include;TechnicalProvide technical guidance in the planning stage of a project including preparation of funding applications, environmental, Right of Way acquisitions, preliminary engineering studies, basis of design reports, master planning, and rate and connection fee studies.Provide technical guidance in the design stage of the project including preparation of construction drawings and technical specifications as well as cost estimating.Provide technical guidance in the bidding stage of the project including attendance to pre bid meetings, answering requests for information, preparation of addenda, and bid opening and analysis.Provide technical guidance and management in the construction phase of the project which may include engineering services only such as review of requests for information and shop drawings submittals or full construction administration services including inspection services.Mentorship and development of younger professionals. Project Management  Management of multiple concurrent projects including their respective Scope, Schedules, and Budgets.Manage AECOM Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program for assigned projects.Manage technical project team to deliver projects on scope, schedule, and budget.Understand and incorporate client requirements in management of projects including commercial contract terms, change management process, financial performance KPIs, etc.Use AECOM prescribed tools to track and manage the financial aspects of the projectsManage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniquesInterface with AECOM Project Directors and business leadership to communicate financial status in accordance with established financial performance KPIsEnsure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycleIdentify, report, and escalate challenges to management as neededPerform risk management to minimize project risksCreate and maintain comprehensive project documentationDelegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levelsEnsure resource availability and allocation integrates global resources into local project deliveryBusiness DevelopmentConducts marketing efforts to seek new clients in alignment with the Water Business line growth strategies.Meets with existing clients on a regular basis to seek work on existing master services on call contracts.Prepares Statements of Qualifications and Proposals in response to Request for Proposals/Qualifications.Tracks client’s Capital Improvement Project lists and works to preposition AECOM for a successful pursuit of  new work.
