Provides oversight and/or leads major projects that inform the growth and market strategies essential to KP's revenue, membership and margin goals. Strategic Market Planning Managers provide analytical/strategic-thinking and leadership skills that enable project teams to: 1) isolate business issues; 2) design and execute analytics for studying business issues (market research, scenario planning, forecasting, market share, profitability, etc); 3) bring technical/content expertise (competitive intelligence, utilization, financial analysis, market research, deep data analysis & programming); 4) vet findings and make formal recommendations to senior levels of KP leadership; 5) review/approve strategic recommendations. Incumbents would manage teams whose work includes membership forecasts & goals, strategies to achieve membership, revenue & margin goals, market research findings, competitive intelligence insights. Selects, develops, evaluates, coaches, and advises personnel.Essential Responsibilities:

Contributes to overall department objectives/goals based on 'global knowledge' of industry and organizational strategic issues.

Proactively identifies key business/segment issues.

Creates justification and makes recommendations/decisions on allocation of Market Strategy resources.

Provides oversight, coaching & management to individual contributors (e.g. Analysts, Data Consultants, and Market Strategy Consultants).

Provides management oversight and serves as subject matter/technical expert on multiple complex business processes (including rate-setting, membership forecasting, strategy development, and database architecture).

Presents key strategic findings & recommendations to Health Plan and PMG senior leadership.

Hire, assess, coach and develop staff; provide consistent orientation; create and model a coaching culture that supports continuous career growth and development at all levels.

Model the competencies of a superior manager; develop career plans.

Provide operational management; monitor organization/business performance metrics and act when needed.

Develop a culture of collaboration and accountability between sales, account management, pricing and other key internal partners.

Implement continuous quality improvement programs.

Basic Qualifications:Experience

Minimum five (5) years of content/functional experience, OR a master's degree and minimum two (2) years of experience.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

N/A

Proven ability to manage & develop resources within area of expertise.

Thorough knowledge of policies, practices and systems.

Regularly contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.

Considered functional expert in field within KP.

Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods.

Employs expertise as a generalist or specialist.

Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum five (5) years of related experience.

Master's degree preferred.

Experience managing teams.

5 years' minimum experience in content strategy.

Experience creating and managing editorial calendars, and in personalizing content for different audiences.

Experience working cross-functionally - Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage schedules and deadlines for multiple projects.

Experience with analytics and content measurement.
