ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement tier-one microservices in Java or Scala in support of in-app purchases and their related data and analytics. Implement asynchronous processes to run in the cloud for various data transformation operations in support of in-app purchases and extracting data for downstream consumers (ex. Analytics, accounting). Work on tech design for various initiatives and projects, including presentation of designs shared with the IAP team, response to feedback, and design execution plan for projects. Performing code reviews and architecture reviews for team members to promoting code quality and review systems functions. Participate in Agile methodology and SCRUM processes such as Sprint Planning, Backlog grooming, Daily Standups, and Retrospectives with the team using JIRA, Git and Github, and Disney Wiki. Provide support for critical services on a rotational basis. Deliver projects end-to-end with high quality and robust architecture for In-App Purchases, system unification, and new features. Work with subscription, unification project, and growth life teams. Ramp up on new domains and technologies, including: Purchases Domain (Apple/Google/Roku/Amazon), Subscription Domain, and Growth-Life Domain.Requirements
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field;
five (5) years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the offered position, as a software engineer, or in a related position performing software development work;
Programming with Scala;
Play Framework;
Functional Programming;
Microservices in an enterprise setting;
Distributed systems and design;
Asynchronous programming; and
Fault tolerant system design.
The hiring range for this position is $177,500 - $199,870 per year. Base pay will take into account internal equity, and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
