Bring bioinformatic expertise to our team and help company extract more from our metagenomics data than anyone else
Inform best practices with sequencing data processing
Bring state-of-the-art techniques to our bioinformatics pipelines to make our computational results reliable and trustworthy
Improve our bioinformatics code with software engineering best practices
What you will be doing:
Bring bioinformatics expertise, and in particular sequencing data processing expertise, to technical discussions for new technical product improvements
Develop and maintain software to monitor the quality of our DNA sequencing data
Support and improve bioinformatic software development in our central processing pipeline
Support the development of new measurements from metagenomics data
Support and improve bioinformatic software development in our development pipelines
Provide occasional bioinformatic support for laboratory assay development
Experience you will need:
2+ years building and maintaining production scale bioinformatics pipelines
Fluency with Python
Experience with AWS
Experience with metagenomics
Proven record of bioinformatics expertise, vis a vis publications, publicly-available computational tools packages, or GitHub repos that show thoughtful genomics analysis
Ability to communicate well in a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers
Ability to take independent ownership of significant projects that guide company product and scientific R&D
MS or PhD in Bioinformatics, Biology or Computer Science, or a related field
