Job Title: Sr Specialist, Software Systems/Security Engineer (Crypto) Job Code: 13885 Job Location: Carlsbad, CA Work Schedule: 9x80 Job Description: The Sr. Specialist, Software Systems/Security engineer is primarily responsible for the design and development of software test for a variety of embedded high-assurance software applications. A Secret Clearance is required for this position. Essential Functions:
Responsible for research, design, and development of computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development.
Participates in all phases of the development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.
Applies computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles.
Works closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.
Develops test procedures, programs, and related documentation.
Contributes to determining, estimating, and validating the cost and scope of efforts to ensure product meets program cost, schedule, and technical constraints.
Be a part of an agile multidisciplinary development team
The sucessful candidate will have he following background:
Embedded systems software engineering
Embedded or applications developer
System infrastructure development; scripting, automation, data visualization & dashboarding
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Security Clearance required
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience using C or C in embedded products
Previous experience with Object Oriented Programming
Ability to pick up new software, frameworks and APIs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent software design, problem solving, and debugging skills
Experience with or desire to learn Linux
Ability to travel up to 10%
Previous experience using python
Experience with developing software monitoring and embedded software
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Perforce), development tools (Eclipse, Visual Studio, etc.), and agile development methodologies
Knowledge of TCP/IP network fundamentals is a plus
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $102,000 - $190,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
