Job Title: Market Representative – Chico Farmers Markets (Wednesdays & Saturdays, Year-Round)

Key Responsibilities:
Market Set-Up & Tear-Down: Be the first to arrive and the last to leave, helping set up our booth in 30 minutes and packing everything up after the market ends.
Physical Activity: Get ready to roll up your sleeves! You’ll need to lift and load the van with our bakery’s products, ensuring everything is handled with care and delivered safely to the market.
Rain or Shine: Farmers markets happen year-round, meaning you’ll be out in all kinds of weather. Whether it’s the summer heat or a winter drizzle, you’ll need to protect both yourself and our products from the elements.
Customer Engagement: As the face of Camina Bakery, you’ll greet our customers, share the story behind our products, and answer questions about our ingredients, baking process, and more. A genuine love for food and our bakery’s mission is key!
Sales & Point of Sale: Operate the Square POS system (iPad and Bluetooth card reader) and handle cash transactions. You’ll also complete a simple market invoice worksheet at the end of each market day.
Market Day Schedule:
6:00 am: Pickup the delivery van
6:15 am: Load up the van with freshly baked goods from our bakery
6:30 am: Hit the road for the market
6:45 am: Arrive at the market and set up the booth
7:30 am – 1:00 pm: Market hours (say hi to our regulars and help new customers discover our delicious products!)
1:00 pm: Pack up and head home
1:45 pm: Drop off the delivery van
What We’re Looking For:
Positive, Friendly Attitude: As a part of the Camina Bakery team, you’ll be the face of our brand at the farmers market. We need someone who loves interacting with people and can represent our values with warmth and enthusiasm.
Reliability & Responsibility: This job requires punctuality and attention to detail, as you’ll be an essential part of our market operations.
Hard-Working: You’ll be on your feet for long stretches and performing physical tasks like lifting, loading, and unloading. Staying energized and motivated throughout the day is key!
Tech-Savvy: You’ll use an iPad to manage transactions, so comfort with technology is a plus.
Passionate About Food: You’ll learn about Camina Bakery’s products and processes, from our ingredients to our baking methods, and share that knowledge with customers. If you love food, and especially great bread, this job is for you!
Compensation & Perks:
Hourly Wage: Starting at $17/hr
Product Perks: Take home up to three loaves of fresh, delicious Camina Bakery products each market day (trade or keep – your choice!)
