We are looking for a highly motivated ResearchOps scientist to join our team to build next generation health, wellness, and safety features for our devices. Candidates must possess deep subject matter expertise in designing and conducting human-centered research and is passionate about how technology can improve our users’ lives.DescriptionIn this highly visible role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Apple and external partners to drive strategy, planning, and execution of research initiatives and studies - from small, focused data collections to large-scale worldwide operations - to power our software algorithms. You will also be responsible for analyzing data, validating performance, and communicating findings with various stakeholders in our multidisciplinary team. Core responsibilities include: Drive strategy, design, and execution of research studies across the Apple device ecosystem Extensive experience in creating comprehensive study documentation, managing reviews with study review boards and IRBs, and ensuring compliance with data governance requirements. Work closely with scientists and researchers to monitor data, identify issues, and drive mitigations and fixes Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and constraints of research initiatives Analyze large and targeted datasets to pull out meaningful insights Develop and deploy innovative processes to improve research studies Effectively communicate at all levels of the organizationMinimum Qualifications

Advanced degree or 4+ years experience in Computer Engineering, Statistics, Human-computer Interaction, Econometrics, Physics or relevant domain knowledge

Coursework in Statistics, Machine Learning, and Programming

You have an enthusiasm and interest in the intersection of technology with health, safety, and wellness features

You are well-versed in carrying out the life cycle of a research study from design to execution to analysis in a timely and cost effective manner. Experience in regulatory compliance is a plus.

You can customize design of research studies to extract data coverage to meet a feature need.

You are able to identify deficiencies in processes and can the drive change to improve such processes.

You have the ability to develop and employ a variety of creative and effective strategies to preempt/resolve conflicts.

You are an independent self-starter who thrives in complex and ambiguous environments, and is able to rapidly optimize across many variables to drive to the best decisions

You are a fast learner of complex hardware and software systems and unfamiliar technologies

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; You have proven experience in simplifying complex scientific concepts and effectively communicating such concepts

You understand how to analyze sensor data and other research data to improve the design and execution of research studies.

You have excellent programming skills with a scientific computing language (for ex. Matlab, Python or R)

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
