The Instructional Assistant will work in partnership with Teachers to hold students to high expectations in the classrooms and other settings, such as lunch and recess. The Instructional Assistant will demonstrate commitment to our college-going mission by believing in students’ potential and supporting students' learning.  Essential Job Functions:  Support teacher-directed instruction, including 1:1 tutoring as neededSupervise structured play before, during, and after schoolLearn from experienced teachers who will explicitly teach you classroom management techniques and differentiation strategies that will help you meet the learning needs of all studentsSupport a vision of excellence for all students, with an urgency to maximize every opportunity necessary to achieve ambitious student outcomesProvides Teachers with support, including tutoring of students, clerical support, and administrative tasks Demonstrates commitment to the community by communicating regularly with families and attending key community events Administer first aid or necessary physical assistance to ill or distressed students May assist with toileting and diapering as necessary; may administer prescribed medication in accordance with established District procedureOther duties as assigned
