Come work at a place where innovation and teamwork come together to support the most exciting missions in the world!Position PurposeWe are looking for a Content Strategy Manager that will help continue to establish Petco as a health and wellness brand and support growth through the creation of thought-leadership content and storytelling around our products and services. The Content Strategy Manager will help lead both the strategic and tactical development of Petco’s content programming and governance. This includes defining, implementing and maintaining the overall strategy for content ideation, production, syndication, monetization, promotion and management.Position Scope & FunctionsA successful candidate will lead a wide range of content initiatives in collaboration with marketing, business and agency teams to help drive awareness, consideration and conversion, as well as increase consumer engagement and retention. We are looking for an experienced storyteller who can create an emotional connection between our brand and the impact it has on our customers; thereby helping to further establish Petco as the trusted source for pet parents.Key functions of the role:Help to develop, define and spearhead a content architecture for Petco’s content program, extending across platforms and business units in collaboration with ecommerce, marketing and merchandising teams
Establish role and process of thought-leadership content development throughout the organization
Create, develop, implement and maintain guidelines and process for all content deliverables, including, but not limited to, video, textual and visual assets
Version and create assets from existing and new resources
Lead content production team and manage editorial calendars, ensuring successful and timely execution of content deliverables
Maintain content repository and content management system
Map, lead and create content strategies in support of marketing campaigns and customers’ journeys in order to deliver the content needed to execute a personalized experience
Promote the content team and program to internal partners through business-led analytics and reporting
Education and Experience5+ years’ experience crafting content strategy within a branded environment, whether agency-side or in-brand
Experience leading end-to-end content marketing strategy and amplification, from defining the objectives and strategies to defining the core KPI's
Reputable digital marketing expertise, with knowledge of SEO, social media marketing, email, influencer engagement, content amplification and full-funnel campaign management
Has portfolio of published written and multimedia content that is optimized for a targeted audience, platform and objective
Track record of budget and spending management
Working knowledge of HTML and other related Web development technologies
Has copywriting and/or editor experience
Strong track record of leadership and influencing skills in a cross-functional, fast-moving environment, along with being a self-starter
Flexibility to deal with unanticipated projects that have tight turnaround times by adjusting schedules for other projects and clearly communicating those changes to stakeholders and teammates
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree
