Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a short-term contract / temporary to hire role. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Detailed and have the ability work independently
5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficient in ERP systems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Adeptness in Prepare Journal Entries
Strong familiarity with month end closings
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience
General ledger experience
Account reconciliation experience
Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
