Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative

Description Robert Half has an opportunity for an Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative with our construction industry client located in Newark, California. This role involves managing customer inquiries, maintaining customer records, creating customer contracts and processing customer requests. In order to be successful in this position you need experience assisting customers in a fast paced environment where you will learn about the products and industry. You also must have excellent attention to detail, be proficient with basic math and be proactive with providing solutions to assist clients. This position is fully onsite and the work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 5PM. This is a contract to permanent position. Responsibilities: Respond to customer inquiries, orders, and complaints in a timely and efficient manner Generate and distribute sales operation documents including invoices, contracts, pick lists, packing lists, and returns to respective departments Assist in resolving customer complaints to ensure proper service Provide necessary data and backup data to customers and other branches upon request Regular follow-up with customers, branches, and shop/yard operations on open and unresolved customer issues Report any conditions affecting customer satisfaction Handle after-hours calls from security and customers, documenting any complaints for further resolution Open and/or close operation facilities as required Utilize Microsoft Office, Infor and Salesforce CRM for data entry and order entry Schedule appointments and manage email correspondence Handle inbound and outbound calls, providing excellent call center customer service.Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role as an Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative Proficiency in answering inbound calls and managing inbound and outbound calls Demonstrated experience in a call center customer service environment Strong customer service skills and ability to handle customer queries effectively Proficiency in data entry tasks and order entry Excellent ability to schedule appointments accurately and efficiently Strong skills in email correspondence and ability to manage professional communication Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Ability to meet sales targets and work in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Ability to work independently and within a team High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree in business or related field would be an advantage. Transitions implementation to success / fulfillment teams after sales have been closed to ensure seamless service delivery. Where applicable, supports development of multi-year account plans in Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) by providing insight on area of specialization (specific product/ service). Actions on opportunities to sell specialty product / services. Works with the remaining account managers on discovery and opportunity identification for assigned specialty products / services. Works under minimal guidance of account managers to seamlessly work with customers throughout the sales cycle. Provides expert input to account managers during account planning process on potential growth opportunities within assigned solution area. Bachelors and/or graduate degree in engineering or related field preferred. 6+ years of related sales experience. Deep knowledge and experience with TIC industry Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets. Business acumen and deep understanding of business sales processes. Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and CRM software.
