In this hybrid Career Services and Externship Coordinator role, you will help Medical Assisting students transition from the classroom to externship and ultimately into meaningful employment. You will coordinate externship placements, coach students and graduates, and develop partnerships with Reno-area healthcare employers. You will use that experience to prepare students, support employers, and create pathways from education to employment.WHAT YOU WILL DOCoordinate quality externship placements for Medical Assisting students.Prepare students for externship and clearly communicate expectations for attendance, performance, and professionalism.Monitor student progress, required hours, evaluations, and documentation.Conduct externship site visits and maintain relationships with site supervisors.Coach students and graduates in resume development, interviewing, job-search strategies, and professional communication.Connect qualified graduates with job opportunities and support them through the hiring process.Build relationships with clinics, medical practices, hospitals, and other healthcare employers.Develop new externship sites and hiring opportunities through proactive outreach and networking.Maintain accurate, timely, and accreditation-ready student and employer records.Pay RangeThe hourly pay range for this position is $30 (minimum), $32 (midpoint), and $34 (maximum).Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.
