Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Construction Director to be based in Fresno, CA .SUMMARY:The Construction Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of all CPs within the program. Broadly, these include risks associated with or potentially impacting the scope, schedule, or budget of the individual projects within the program as well as the overall quality of the program as delivered. This senior leadership role involves managing construction teams, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The Construction Director will work closely with leadership and all applicable parties to ensure that the CPs meet program goals and exceed client expectations.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the overall strategy for the program’s construction operations, ensuring alignment with project objectives and goals

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the civil construction team, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement

Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term plans for project delivery, resource allocation, and operational efficiency

Oversee all aspects of construction projects, from pre-construction to completion, confirming that each phase is properly planned and executed

Guarantee the timely delivery of projects by closely monitoring project schedules, budgets, and resources

Direct and supervise the project management team, establishing effective coordination of activities and resolution of issues as they arise

Monitor the performance of construction projects, guaranteeing adherence to project scopes, quality standards, and contractual obligations

Work closely with the project management and finance teams to establish and maintain project budgets, guaranteeing that projects are delivered on time and within budget

Implement and enforce cost control procedures to monitor expenses and manage change orders effectively

Evaluate and approve project cost estimates, changes, and claims to ensure financial control

Coordinate with functional managers to make sure resources required by the CPs are provided and guaranteeing consistent approaches across the CPs.

QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a relevant discipline and 10+ years in civil construction project management, with a focus on managing interfaces in large, complex projects

Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, contracts, and project delivery methods

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Proficient in project management software and tools

PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification

Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale projects

Familiarity with international standards and civil construction regulations

Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage competing priorities

Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities

Experience with risk management practices in construction projects

Knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards in construction

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
