Maintenance Technician

Description:Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the following:

Conforms to and has department conform to Producers quality standards.

Updates and monitors a preventative maintenance program for the Fresno plant facility.

Helps relieve and cover maintenance department vacations to minimize overtime costs.

Coordinates the day-to-day preventative maintenance requirements and must have proficiency in all maintenance jobs.

Through a parts clerk, establishes parts ordering requirements to ensure that adequate supplies of appropriate spare parts are kept in stock.

Develops a maintenance related training schedule for production people and assists in their technical training as needed.

Assists in troubleshooting as needed on plant equipment. Perform needed repairs when required. Researches, suggests, and implements system upgrades.

Analyze malfunctioning machines and system (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.) and make necessary repairs, adjustments, modifications, subject to management approval.

Repairs production equipment, plant equipment, and related facilities as directed. This includes broilers, air compressors and refrigeration systems.

Analyze and repair specialized equipment heavily dependent on electrical controls, microprocessors controls, electro-mechanical mechanisms, and related components under general direction.

Maintains a working understanding of plant production processes, equipment systems and facilities, in order to perform maintenance effectively under general directions.

Has sufficient knowledge to be able to operate equipment for diagnostic and break relief as required.

Performs all work in a safe and professional manner and reports safety deficiencies immediately.

Orders parts and materials as required for assigned tasks.

Maintain professional and appropriate dress, hygiene and personal appearance.

Must have a good safety record. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience on industrial maintenance.

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Must be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish a plus.
