Description We are searching for a Payroll Specialist to join our team based in Fresno, California. The Payroll Specialist will be instrumental in handling various aspects of payroll and compensation activities for the company. This role involves the processing of bi-weekly payroll, maintaining accurate employee data, managing benefits program administration, and providing support to employees regarding HR and compensation matters. Responsibilities: Accurately process bi-weekly payroll, including wages, commissions, and bonuses. Manage employee benefit program administration, including enrollment, billing, payments, and deductions. Maintain and update deductions such as benefit premiums, 401k deductions, and HSA contributions. Process payments generated through HR programs, such as employee referrals and recognition awards. Handle payroll tax return processes and reconciliations. Ensure accurate pay rates are maintained in the system and union pay scale increases are tracked and applied. Administer self-insured dental plan, track enrollment and claims paid, and serve as point of contact for dental offices. Conduct compensation analysis and tracking for CFO on a monthly, annually, and ad-hoc basis. Support data compilation and preparation for annual employee total compensation communications. Complete weekly check-run for HR bills and payments including dental claims, union dues, insurance plans, scholarships, and vendors. Maintain accurate employee credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently. Requirements Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll specialist role or similar Proficiency in payroll systems and payroll tax laws is necessary Experience with benefits payroll and benefit functions is required Ability to process payroll and reconcile payroll discrepancies effectively Knowledge of payroll taxes and the ability to ensure compliance with relevant laws Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Relevant certification or degree in finance, human resources, or related field is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
