Description Robert Half is recruiting for an Accounting Manager Consultant to support our Non-Profit client for an in-person engagement in the South Bay of Los Angeles. This consultant will report into the CFO and be responsible for hands-on supervision for a team of accounting specialists and seniors. Key responsibilities include: general ledger close, preparing and reviewing reconciliations and entries, helping with ongoing financial audits, and creating desktop procedures for the accounting function. The ideal Accounting Manager Consultant will be resourceful to work independently, possess initiative to accomplish accounting objectives, and thrive in a process-improvement minded environment. This opportunity will be located on-site in LA, CA.Requirements:
Previous experience as a GL accounting supervisor or manager
Ability to navigate Excel for daily reconciliations, data analysis, and reporting: pivots, lookups, sumifs, index/match, etc
Experience using mid-to-large tier GL software
Experience pulling supporting documentation and replying to audit inquiries for financial audits
Ability to thrive in large accounting departments with a range of skill-level and experience
Prior non-profit experience preferred but not required
Must be able to work on-site in the South Bay of Los Angeles
Requirements
Reliable technology and analytical abilities
Recent relevant financial experience
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation
Expertise in cash reconciliations
Bank reconciliations experience
Practical knowledge of Abila MIP ( nice to have)
Audit PBC lists experience
Audit scheduling experience highly desired
Proven knowledge of month end closings
Deep understanding of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Well-founded grasp of Process Documentation
General familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Quality experience with non-profit fund accounting
Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
CPA or MBA preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
