About the Role & TeamPart of Disney Entertainment (DE) Controllership within Enterprise Financial Service (EFS) , this role supports the Disney Theatrical Group (Stage Plays) business.ENTERPRISE FINANCIAL SERVICES is dedicated to providing high quality information and services to our business partners. The Controllership team records, reports, and analyzes a wide variety of revenues, expenses, and KPIs. We support the decision-making process while earning assurance and respect by efficiently reporting and maintaining accurate and timely financial data. Productions include The Lion King, Frozen, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. Disney Theatrical Group also licenses the Company’s International Property to Feld Entertainment, the producer of Disney On Ice and Marvel Universe Live!. They will be willing to share those creative ideas with others.Reporting to the Manager of Stage Plays Accounting, the Financial Accounting Analyst will be responsible for various key functions that support the day-to-day accounting and quarterly close processes of the Stage Plays Domestic Merchandise business. This includes but is not limited to the analysis and recording of monthly merchandise sales entries, calculating and analyzing various key accounting accruals, timely preparation and analysis of balance sheet account reconciliations, and the preparation, analysis, and presentation of quarterly financial reporting to our business partners.An ideal candidate must be well-organized, thorough, and be able to perform a variety of tasks under time pressure and strict deadlines. Prepare and record merchandise sales journal entries

Calculate, record and initiate theatre and producer commission payments

Calculate, record and work closely with the Participations team to coordinate timely payment to talent

Calculate, record and coordinate payment of sales taxes

Prepare and record all quarterly accruals for Stage Plays Merchandise

Prepare & present quarter-end financial statements & variance explanations

Prepare quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations, including aging of the accounts

Closely monitor and track annual inventory counts and help resolve any variances to minimize P&L impacts

Coordinate with operations and A/P teams to ensure inventory payments are made timely to vendors.

Ad-hoc projects as assigned

Required Qualifications & Skills

2+ years of accounting experience

Understanding of accounting fundamentals (e.g., debit/credits, financial statements)

Strong excel skills including ability to organize/analyze large amounts of data

Excellent time management skills coupled with ability to meet tight deadlines

Ability to succeed in a team environment

Strong problem solving, research, and analytical skills

Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CPA candidate preferred

Prior experience with or knowledge of SAP

Merchandise experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or related field required

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
