ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:The Service Line Manager is responsible for managing, integrating, planning, developing, evaluating, and directing the assigned service line(s) at Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health Center (GMHHC). This coordination is to assure that quality of care standards for the assigned service line(s) is/ are met throughout the system. The Service Line Manager (SLM) holds the overall responsibility for the successful development and implementation of strategic, programmatic, and operational planning for the assigned service line(s) within GMHHC. The SLM holds total accountability for the business of the service line including the delivery of all aspects of service throughout the continuum of care, from pre-patient business development (third party payors, employers, employees, consumers, pre-hospital and hospital admission, (emergency department, intensive care units, acute bed stays, rehabilitation services and post-hospital care and follow up). The SLM is charged with primary responsibility for the delivery of quality care and patient safety, and for achieving targeted economic results, all as it relates to the service line and consistent with the fundamentals and strategic objectives of Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health Center. This position is responsible for physician and hospital integration, excellence in clinical outcomes, improved relationships with internal and external customers, gains in operational efficiencies, and managing all functions of the service line necessary to position and maintain the organization as a Center of Excellence. The SLM role is a business function, and has an operational authority for the delivery of services, responsible for the effective delivery of quality patient care. This position also directs and promotes best practice standards in the service line arena to include, but not limited to, assuring regulatory, accreditation and clinical standards are met. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health Center. It is expected that the associate demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The Service Line Manager shall support Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health Center's strategic plan and the established goals and objectives.QualificationsEducation and Experience:
Bachelor's degree is required in related field.
Master's degree in related field, preferred.
Two years experience in the acute care setting, as a registered nurse, required.
Prior service line/ or healthcare experience in Neurovascular, Stroke, Trauma, Cardiovascular, or Orthopedic programs experience preferred.
Licensure:
California Registered Nurse license required.
Stroke Certification required within 30 days of hire and ACLS.
Special Skills:
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to develop understanding of regulatory and compliance issues related to assigned service line.
Ability to ensure implementation of current best practice guidelines across the organization.
