Payroll Manager

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Manager with union payroll experience to oversee the full cycle of weekly payroll for 125-175 employees, including both union and non-union personnel. Key Responsibilities

Process and oversee full-cycle weekly payroll for 125-175 employees, including union and non-union workers.

Maintain employee profiles and payroll information, such as union rates, fringes, and payroll tax rates.

Accurately calculate and issue weekly payroll checks or direct deposits in a timely manner.

Process weekly payroll tax, garnishment, and 401k payments.

Prepare and submit weekly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports to the appropriate agencies.

Manage unemployment claims, union reporting, OCIP, and all required payroll forms.

Ensure compliance with union, state, and local requirements by processing certified payroll reports.

Assist in resolving employee benefit issues as needed.

Protect payroll operations by maintaining confidentiality and securing sensitive information.

Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accuracy in payroll invoicing and reconciliation.Haywa

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, with a strong focus on union payroll.

Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Experience processing certified payroll and managing multi-union payrolls (carpenters, laborers, operators).

Proficiency in payroll software such as Vista (preferred) or MS Dynamics, and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Preferred Skills

Bilingual abilities (a plus).

Familiarity with job costing payroll, payroll taxes, and certified payroll.

Understanding of labor compliance, including DIR wage determinations.

Critical thinking skills with a self-motivated, driven, and growth-oriented mindset
