NPD Test Engineer (Electronics)

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Test Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive testing strategies for electronic systems and components used in aerospace and defense applications. This role requires a deep understanding of electronic circuits, testing methodologies, and industry standards and will work closely with the product design engineers. The Test Engineer will manage and coordinate multiple test programs for the New Product Development team.Key Responsibilities:

Test Development and Execution:

Design and develop test plans, procedures, and test setups for electronic systems and components.

Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing to ensure compliance with specified requirements.

Utilize automated test equipment (ATE) and custom test scripts for efficient and accurate testing.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues.

Generate detailed test reports and documentation, summarizing findings and providing recommendations for improvements or corrective actions.

Communicate test results to cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production engineers.

Troubleshooting and Debugging:

Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic circuits and systems to identify root causes of failures or performance issues.

Collaborate with design engineers to resolve technical challenges and implement design changes as necessary.

Develop and implement corrective actions to address identified issues.

Compliance and Standards:

Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Stay updated on the latest advancements in testing methodologies, tools, and technologies relevant to aerospace and defense applications.

Participate in audits and reviews to demonstrate adherence to quality and safety standards.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhancements in testing methodologies and workflows.

Lead initiatives to implement best practices and optimize test efficiency and accuracy.

Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians on testing techniques and procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of [5] years of experience in electronics testing, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry.

Proficiency in using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.

Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and programming languages such as LabVIEW, Python, or similar.

Strong understanding of electronic circuit design, schematic interpretation, and PCB layout.

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-160, IPC).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Electro-mechanical experience preferred.

Experience in VHDL programming is a plus.

Knowledge of Quality systems and practices a must.

Knowledge of Solid Works is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with environmental testing (e.g., temperature, vibration, shock) for aerospace and defense applications.

Familiarity with RF testing and measurements.

Knowledge of reliability testing and analysis (e.g., HALT, HASS, FMEA).

Certification in relevant testing or quality standards (e.g., ISTQB, Six Sigma).

Interpersonal skills promoting effective interaction with other staff, customers, and suppliers.

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
