We’re looking for someone who is passionate about horticulture and gardening to join our team!
We are a woman owned and run fine gardening company who have been curating landscapes for residents of Humboldt County for over 25 years. Our tight knit team provides high quality services for residential clients living between Ferndale and Trinidad.
We do design, installation and maintenance, tending to all plants in the landscape aside from lawns. Our services cover most aspects of caring for gardens and plants, including drip irrigation, aesthetic pruning, applying mulch, fertilization, weeding, raking, hedging and weed eating. We use a variety of hand tools, and battery operated tools such as hedge shears, string trimmers and blowers.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who love working outdoors, have an eye for detail, and who enjoy working in service. This is a physical job. Our duties vary day to day, but can involve repetitive motion and heavy lifting. We are seeking applicants who are interested in being an integral part of a small hard working team and who intend to stick around for a couple of years.
This is a year-round part time position. Hours will vary by season, and typically decrease in winter. We generally work from 9:30am-3:30pm Tuesday-Friday. Ideal applicants will be available to work at least three days per week, with a minimum availability of 5 hours a day.
The following qualifications are required:
Prior experience that relates to this line of work (landscaping, horticulture, nursery, farm or personal
property)
True passion for nature and working with plants
Positive attitude and a desire to learn
Fast, efficient, organized, with good time management skills
Ability to responsibly use and maintain the company tools
Prompt and reliable
Self motivated
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and with a team
Professional appearance/demeanor with and around clients
Prepared to work in all weather conditions
Ability to weed, dig or prune for hours
A smart phone for communication throughout the day, and for logging own hours in payroll app
A reliable personal vehicle for travel between job sites (a truck without a shell is a plus)
Clean drivers license
