Full-Time Medical Records Specialist
Redwoods Rural Health Center (RRHC) is seeking a Medical Records Specialists organize and maintain health information both in paper files and in electronic systems. They check data for accuracy, assign codes for insurance reimbursement, record information and keep file folders and electronic databases up to date. Some of the data they manage includes patient information, medical histories, physician exams, test results, treatments and services provided. In addition to their clerical duties, records specialists often consult with health care professionals to make sure information is accurate.
The Medical Records Specialist will be involved in an industry wide computerized interactive interface program. Incumbent must be computer savvy to learn new systems quickly and retain information. They must also follow best practices for security and patient confidentiality. High school diploma or equivalency required. Prior 1-2 years of experience in medical field is strongly preferred.
RRHC is an EOE and offers a flexible schedule, 4-day work week and competitive compensation. Health benefits, paid time off and retirement match is available for employees working 24+ hours per week. Pay range is $21 to $25 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
