Food for People is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, organizational, people-management, and leadership skills to fill this full-time, benefitted position. The person hired to will be responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, and recognition of volunteers, and will support staff and volunteers in delivering high quality, compassionate service to individuals served by Food for People’s countywide network of hunger relief programs. This is a hands-on position, at times working alongside staff and volunteers engaged in food distribution and warehouse packing projects. The Volunteer & Direct Services Manager’s role also encompasses the recruitment and placement of student interns, Work-Study students, Community Service and Work Readiness Program participants, and works as part of a team that supports our on-site Choice Pantry. As a member of Food for People’s Management Team, the Volunteer & Direct Services Manager provides technical assistance, support, and supervision for food bank staff and programs with direct service roles to monitor the quality of customer service that staff and volunteers provide.
