Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Baker to join our team at Paris Baguette. As a Baker, you will play a vital role in preparing and baking our signature breads, pastries, and desserts while ensuring quality, consistency, and food safety standards are met. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about baking and eager to grow in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Training will require 4 weeks of on-site training in our Chula Vista location.

Responsibilities

Baking recipes and preparing all desserts according to Paris Baguette recipes and standards

Responsible for frying donuts, placing toppings, and decorating on needed pastries and bread

Responsible for scaling and shaping of all breads, loaves, and pastries

General oven duties

Ensure consistent quality, portioning, and presentation of all baked items

Operate and maintain bakery equipment (ovens, mixers, proofers, etc.) safely and efficiently

Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and organized workspace

Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management

Receive, stock, and store food in designated containers and storage areas in an organized manner

Complete various reports for records such as production, usage, and waste

Must be able to prioritize and finish all tasks assigned for the daily baking

Assist with decorating and finishing cakes and pastries as needed

Collaborate with the team to meet daily production goals

Provide excellent service by ensuring bakery items are fresh, well-presented, and available for guests

Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous baking or culinary experience preferred

Knowledge on food producing process, sanitization, and quality program

Knowledge on food producing technique, food microbiology, and food sanitary safety practice/procedure

Food safety, food labeling, nutrition related knowledge (include FDA)

Confectionery/Food major recommended

Food Handler’s Certificate, preferred

Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task

Effective communication skills

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods

Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
