Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and creative Cake Decorator to join our Paris Baguette team. In this role, you will design, decorate, and finish cakes, pastries, and specialty desserts according to Paris Baguette’s high standards. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, artistic ability, and a passion for creating beautiful and delicious cakes that bring joy to every celebration. Training will require 4 weeks of on-site training in our Chula Vista location.
Responsibilities
Responsible for scaling, decorating, and producing all desserts, pastries, and cakes
Ensure consistent quality, design, and presentation of all cake products
Prepare icings, glazes, fillings, and decorations as needed
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage in the cake prep area
Follow food safety, sanitation, and handling guidelines at all times
Monitor inventory of cake decorating supplies and communicate needs to management
Learn new products and skills, and has the ability to demonstrate proper techniques to new cakers
Receive, stock, and store food in designated containers and storage areas in an organized manner.
Ensure the cake display is presentable for customers
Collaborate with the bakery team to meet production and service goals
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Previous cake decorating or pastry experience preferred
General knowledge of production methods and organization of Confectionery production
Strong decorating skills including piping, frosting, lettering, and finishing techniques
Knowledge on food producing process, sanitization, and quality program
Knowledge on food producing technique, food microbiology, and food sanitary safety practice/procedure
Food safety, food labeling, nutrition related knowledge (include FDA)
Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Confectionery/Foods major recommended
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods
Positive attitude, team player, and reliable
