Position Summary
We’re seeking a Biohazard Technician and Supervisor to lead and support our field teams in performing biohazard and trauma scene cleanups, infectious disease decontamination, hoarding cleanouts, and other specialized cleaning projects. The ideal supervisor candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on experience with biohazard or environmental cleanup, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. The ideal technician candidate has experience in biohazard and hoarding cleanup.
Supervisor Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily work of biohazard cleanup technicians.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
Oversee site assessments, containment setup, waste handling, and decontamination procedures.
Train and mentor new technicians on safety practices, proper use of PPE, and remediation methods.
Maintain detailed job documentation, including reports, photos, and chain-of-custody forms.
Communicate effectively with clients, law enforcement, and other partners as needed.
Monitor equipment and supply inventory and ensure readiness for deployment.
Technician Key Responsibilities
Assess and secure biohazard sites to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination.
Remove and properly dispose of contaminated materials in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
Clean, disinfect, and deodorize affected areas using hospital-grade disinfectants and specialized equipment.
Wear and maintain PPE (personal protective equipment) to minimize exposure risks.
Document all work with detailed notes, photos, and reports for compliance and insurance purposes.
Communicate with clients professionally and compassionately during sensitive situations.
Maintain equipment and participate in ongoing training in infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Supervisor: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in biohazard remediation, environmental services, or a related field.
Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazardous materials handling, and PPE protocols.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in challenging conditions (e.g., confined spaces, varied environments).
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
Technician: Minimum 1 year of experience in biohazard remediation preferred but not required.
