Job Title: Mobile Diesel Technician

Department: Maintenance & Compliance

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The average work week will be 40 hours per week and can vary based on work schedule as needed. Must be flexible to come in on Saturdays when needed. This Individual will act on behalf of Cypress on all preventative maintenance of all equipment and repair service working from a mobile 2020 Ford FF50 service truck. The employee must provide their own tools for work use. The terminal is in Fontana and maybe required to travel to Tulare, CA. Must have a full understanding of DOT compliance and BIT inspections for preventative maintenance on trailers and class 8 Trucks.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to turn a wrench “roll up your sleeves” and take on the challenge for quality repair on all our equipment.

Primary Responsibilities but not limited to:

Diesel Mechanic Experience with general knowledge of Detroit's & Cummings engines

Able to perform diagnostic on trucks and understand the codes.

Have some knowledge of carrier refrigerated trailers (3 trailers)

Candidate must have the proper tools as part of the requirement.

Coordinate with company policy for driver pretrip and post trip DVIR for compliance.

Provide overview of driver improvement when needed on preventive maintenance.

Provide tire repair and replacement on all trucks and trailers when needed.

Assist on oversight of any audits with driver qualification, medical and compliance files in a secure and confidential manner (both on the truck and in the office with our compliance staff members)

Certify drivers for road test and assist with company driver needs when requested.

Must be flexible on breakdown and hours for travel and support.

Have a valid Class, A CDL license of 2 years is desirable but not required.

Three to Five years of progressive maintenance & repair experience.

Familiarity with D.O.T. & HOS regulations

Strong understanding of maintenance software to for diagnostic purposes (company to provide software)

Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external personnel.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Assist with drivers on company policies & procedures on equipment use.

Assist in all Inspections of our equipment to ensure that the Safety & Mechanical items are in good working order.

Work with Management & Compliance for overall Safety & repairs of CCX equipment.

Ensure that Safety is the #1 focus within the operation.
