In this position, you will prepare financial statements; establish and maintain the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the organization; and handle all other general accounting and bookkeeping functions. This long-term contract / contract to permanent Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Irvine, California.Key responsibilities
Filing documents to maintain historical records
Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing
Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
Handling processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows
Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close Requirements - Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
Previous experience with payroll preferred
Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
Prior experience with Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Knowledge of financial statement preparation
Solid understanding of Job Cost
Deep understanding of Construction Accounting
3+ years of bookkeeping experience
Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
