What we do:
The Lead Manufacturing and Supportability Engineer is responsible for supporting all designs and providing expertise in manufacturing including production, test, evaluation, and certification. This position develops efficient manufacturing solutions and processes to support the development of an eVTOL system.
The Lead Manufacturing and Supportability Engineer provides manufacturing expertise and gives feedback to leadership on technical approaches, products, and processes. They also assist in creating standard processes and procedures within the field while working with the design team throughout the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design. This role involves collaboration with all technical development teams.
What you can do:
Lead all aspects of manufacturing and vendor trade studies
Provide manufacturing support with an emphasis on speed and efficiency
Coordinate manufacturing development activities, including DFM assessment, design reviews, procurement, and installation/integration
Provide technical guidance as well as design support
Assist leadership in prioritizing efforts based on manufacturing timelines
Document manufacturing processes and work instructions
Support aircraft installation and integration, including writing and releasing engineering orders and functional test procedures required for flight test and production aircraft
Prepare and communicate design and technical materials to management and team members
Up to 25% of domestic and international travel
Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering related engineering field required; Master's or PhD degree preferred
Minimum 10 years of experience with manufacturing and/or design of an aerospace system/product
Experience developing and implementing new processes and procedures
Experience with new aircraft development, prototyping, certification, and production
Experience with supplier management and evaluation in a manufacturing capacity
Knowledge of certification rules and processes, including ARP 4754A, ARP 4761, DO-160
Experience with helicopter and/or tiltrotor rotor systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints

Experience leading a team of technical personnel is preferred
CATIA experience
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T
