The Precision Medicine & Diagnostics team is responsible for providing franchise-level marketing support on companion diagnostics (CDx) and biomarker functions, executing CDx tactics in the field, and contributing to product development in the diagnostics space for pipeline assets. Abbvie Oncology offers you immense opportunities to explore your interests and help you achieve your goals.The Oncology Diagnostic Liaison is a field based commercial position responsible for interacting with pathology departments, diagnostic laboratories, lab personnel, and other stakeholders responsible for implementation and execution of biomarker testing. The purpose of this role is to educate on the importance of timely and accurate biomarker testing including those relevant to AbbVie oncology therapies with an associated Companion Diagnostic (CDx). Major Responsibilities
Educating key stakeholders, including pathologists, executive level lab decision makers, lab personnel and other oncology multi-disciplinary team members, on relevant CDx and testing information related to approved AbbVie Oncology products
Supporting the AbbVie field sales team in optimizing biomarker testing as a precision medicine and CDx subject matter expert within territory
Developing account-specific business plans in collaboration with field sales team to promote customer implementation of high quality, timely CDx testing
Demonstrate knowledge of, access to, and the ability to influence key biomarker testing stakeholders in targeted accounts (Pathologist, Lab Director and personnel, EHR champion)
Partnering with external parties, including reference lab and diagnostic partner field teams, to deliver aligned biomarker testing messaging to key stakeholders
Building relationships with precision medicine stakeholders and pathologists aligned to the US Commercial Precision Medicine and portfolio strategy, including through local pathology societies; identify external experts to support commercial activities
Executing educational programs on biomarker testing for purposes of educating relevant stakeholders on the importance of high-quality testing
Representing AbbVie at relevant local and national pathology and precision medicine conferences to educate on the biomarkers relevant to approved AbbVie oncology products
Driving biomarker testing process efficiencies with pathology customers and accounts, including EHR integration
Mastering technical & market knowledge related to oncology Dx testing (e.g., IHC, FISH, NGS) and how it fits in the treatment paradigm of targeted therapies and/or genomically-defined tumors
Sharing account insights / market intelligence on diagnostics and testing with AbbVie internal teams to inform future strategy development
Attending internal field meetings/trainings (at times, with external CDx collaboration partner and AbbVie sales)
Reports through the US Commercial Precision Medicine & Diagnostics organization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in life sciences preferred
4+ years of industry experience (pharmaceutical and/or device sales)
4+ years diagnostics (IVD or laboratory industry) experience; oncology experience highly preferred
Demonstrated clinical and business acumen in oncology and diagnostics
Experience / comfort discussing scientific content
Thorough knowledge of diagnostic market: trends, technologies, regulatory environment
Established relationships with diagnostic laboratories, oncologists and/or pathologists, precision medicine department leaders highly preferred
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
