Description We are inviting applications for the role of Senior Accounting Projects, based in Irvine, California, 92614, United States. The job functions primarily revolve around maintaining the financial integrity of capital projects using the Oracle Projects module. The selected candidate will be responsible for collaborating with various departments and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies, and working on process improvements. Responsibilities: Manage financial transactions linked to capital projects using the Oracle Projects module Conduct comprehensive reviews of all requisitions to ensure correct capitalization in line with GAAP and organizational policies Liaise with different departments to gain insights into major capital projects and Construction in Progress (CIP), and decide on the appropriate capitalization of long-term projects Prepare and present budget versus actual analysis to project stakeholders Work closely with program and project managers to resolve any budget discrepancies or issues Monitor capital projects to ensure appropriate cost accumulation and timely completion Prepare and present quarterly project tracking statuses Uphold compliance with internal controls over project accounting Assist external auditors by providing necessary support in a timely manner Propose and aid in the implementation of process improvements Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is fundamental for the role. Ability to perform Balance Sheet Reconciliation is necessary. Expertise in conducting Bank Reconciliations is required. Familiarity with General Ledger management is a must. Capability to handle Journal Entries is essential. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel is critical. Experience with Month End Close procedures is important. Knowledge of NetSuite is beneficial. Familiarity with Oracle software is an asset. Proficiency in using SAP is expected.
