Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant located in Irvine, California. The primary function of this role is to manage financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a range of responsibilities related to maintaining and reconciling financial records, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory audits.Responsibilities: Manage and maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts adhering to GAAP Prepare and process journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations Assist with monthly close processes, ensuring consistency with current policy and procedures Prepare and maintain Lease Accounting reconciliation reports Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations with well-labelled and documented supporting workpapers Research and resolve any variances in Balance Sheet reconciliation Meet processing and reporting deadlines consistently Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits Ensure compliance with GAAP, Statutory and Regulatory audits Participate in and assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by management. Requirements Candidate must possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Prior experience in a similar role is desired but not mandatory. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing the work. Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Strong organizational skills, capacity to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
