Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team situated in Irvine, California. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, supporting accounts payable and receivable, assisting in audit processes, and communicating effectively with vendors and customers. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough ledger entries and reconciliations, updating financial records regularly. Assist in the management of accounts receivable by depositing checks and processing payments to ensure timely financial transactions. Support accounts payable through the processing of invoices and managing vendor payments. Partake in preparing tax documents and assist in audit processes to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Monitor cash flow, manage petty cash accounts, and prepare bank deposits. Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses to aid internal decision-making. Communicate effectively with vendors and customers to resolve discrepancies and maintain good relationships. Keep up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations that affect the company’s financial operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial matters. Handle other duties and special projects as assigned. Requirements Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field Extensive experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is required Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries is preferred Experience with Month End Close operations is necessary Proficiency in using accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must have knowledge of financial regulations and legislation Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables.
