Job DescriptionJoin the Clean Energy RevolutionBecome a Senior Application Developer at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you will be part of the Digital Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) team within the Customer Service Operations Division (CSOD)and will co-lead in the development and administration of a team of robots within the Revenue Services Organization. You will focus on developing and maintaining process automations utilizing a vendor Robotics tool (UiPath) across the department. You will interact closely with all levels of employees and leaders to develop the automation process that will replace the human interaction within the identified process.As a key member of the Robotics CoE team, you will assist in developing the short-term and long-term robotics strategy and work closely with robotics team to develop and implement automation solutions across varying business processes ranging from back-office billing to front-office functions. Day-to-day responsibilities will require on-call support/monitoring and maintenance of existing automated processes and teaming with process analysts/project managers.As a Senior Application Developer , your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Analyze and interpret data, develop alternatives, share findings and recommendations, and consult with department, client organization, and/or corporate decision makers in support of departmental and/or Company operations.

Gather, document, analyze, and draw conclusions on complex data and information after considering alternatives through independent research and analysis.

Translate business process diagrams to system requirements in the development of automation solutions using robotics. Work closely with business SME’s to develop logical diagrams to accurately depict business processes within robotics design suite.

Responsible for the development of data prep to be processed by robot, to include writing queries against system tables.

Develop robotic solutions through computer programming in SQL, Visual Basic, C, C-Sharp & other object-oriented languages. Conduct user acceptance tests and implement solutions.

Partner closely with IT and robotics vendor to trouble-shoot, problem-solve and develop solutions to meet business needs.

Provide on-call support.

Develop capacity plan to determine server needs and schedule volumes of jobs that can be run within a 24hr period.

QualificationsThe essentialsFive (5) or more years of systems development support, maintenance and or technical operations support experience.

Programming and software development experience in one or more of the listed languages/Tools: Microsoft Access, SAS, C, Visual Basic, C Sharp, or other Object-oriented computing languages.

The preferredBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.

Experience in designing and implementing automations using automation tools (E.g. UiPath, Pega, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, or related robotic tools).

Experience in system and process implementations.

Knowledge of project management.

Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Understands the software development life-cycle, including but not limited to practical work experience in developing and translating logical and physical system diagrams, development of business requirements and system requirements, and performing user-acceptance testing.

Proficiency in systems design, such as Visio or other types of systems diagram tools.

You should know Work Mode: The position’s work mode is remote . Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion.
