Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking Design Engineers to join the Aircraft Environmental Control Systems (ECS) team in Long Beach, CA. Some domestic and/or international travel may be required to support our customers.We are seeking Design Engineers with a knowledge in aircraft design, certification and engineering principles, to make an immediate impact on the rapidly growing in-production airplane programs. As an ECS engineer, you will be working on aspects that directly impact the safety of airline passengers. You'll be an integral part of supporting Boeing Global Services to meet our customers' needs. A successful candidate for this position will possess Adaptability, Collaboration, Communication, Customer Focus, Innovation, Project Management and Engineering Judgment.Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced or Lead Design Engineers.Position Responsibilities:

Independently supports development and documentation of Environmental Control System design and installation packages (air conditioning, air distribution, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, nitrogen generating system, ice/rain protection, etc.)

Assesses complex system configurations utilizing airplane spatial integration at the system and component level

Contributes to creation of component and system design requirements, as well as supplier qualification of these components and systems

Evaluate system design and requirements to determine potential safety issues

Assists in component and system laboratory/airplane testing to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

Works directly with airline customers and airplane component suppliers to ensure effective system integration and customer satisfaction

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Long Beach, CA. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree

3+ years of experience working with or on an engineering team

3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering

3+ years of experience in Design Engineering

3+ Experience working in CATIA V5 environments

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Masters of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree

Direct experience with aircraft Environmental Control Systems design and installation (air conditioning, air distribution, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, nitrogen generating system, ice/rain protection, etc.)

Knowledge of Boeing design, certification and engineering principles

Experience with Boeing airplane modification programs

Experience with Boeing production development programs

Experience being a lead on a team

Ability to work with multiple team functions

Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
