Our companies, which includes growing restaurants groups and real estate property entities, are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Accountant/Controller to join our team. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our multiple locations and businesses, ensuring that all accounting processes and procedures are efficient, accurate, and compliant with all relevant regulations. You will work closely with our CEO and others to provide financial insights, recommendations, and reports that help drive our business forward. The ideal candidate will have significant restaurant accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results. We’ve learned how to handle accounting and financial management along the way, and we’ve done a pretty good job, but now we’re looking for someone who can take us to the next level. You won’t be coming into a well-established system here - instead, you’ll be an integral part of helping us to build one. As Controller, you’ll handle our day-to-day accounting, prepare our financial statements, help us get better at budgeting, build better safeguards and procedures. We’re looking for someone who is willing to get their hands dirty and handle all of our accounting tasks, eventually growing and leading an accounting team. Our ideal candidate for this position is someone who’s a self-starter, someone who brings accounting and operational experience that we don’t have, and someone who loves to make systems and processes better.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to provide meaningful insights to management
- Ensure all accounting processes and procedures are compliant with regulatory requirements and policies
- Manage month-end close process, including reconciling accounts, reviewing journal entries, and preparing accruals and deferrals
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including, vendors, auditors, tax professionals, and banks
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, as well as special projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Bilingual (Spanish and English)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with restaurant accounting, including inventory management, cost of goods sold, etc.
- Advanced knowledge with (QuickBooks, etc.) and MS Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
