We are looking to expand our team with a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Compliance Specialist to assist with our student loan forgiveness programs.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Compliance Specialist with a deep understanding of student loan forgiveness programs to ensure our company’s practices align with regulatory requirements and best practices. This role will primarily focus on maintaining compliance with federal and state student loan forgiveness initiatives, including Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), Teacher Loan Forgiveness, and Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) forgiveness programs.
Key Responsibilities:
-Compliance Management: Monitor and interpret changes to federal and state student loan forgiveness regulations and guidelines. Ensure all company practices comply with the latest legal requirements and industry standards.
-Policy Implementation: Develop, review, and update internal policies and procedures related to student loan forgiveness programs, ensuring they align with federal regulations and best practices.
-Program Guidance: Provide expert advice and support to clients & reps on the eligibility criteria, application processes, and documentation required for various student loan forgiveness programs.
-Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client/student eligibility, applications, and forgiveness progress. Prepare reports on compliance audits and program outcomes as needed.
-Audits & Reviews: Perform internal audits to assess compliance with forgiveness program requirements and identify areas for improvement.
-Collaboration: Work closely with customer service teams to resolve any compliance issues related to loan forgiveness programs.
Qualifications:
-In-depth knowledge of federal student loan programs, particularly Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), Teacher Loan Forgiveness, and Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) programs.
-Experience working in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, preferably within student loan servicing or financial services.
-Strong understanding of current student loan forgiveness regulations, policies, and processes.
-Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner.
-Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
-Familiarity with loan servicing platforms and compliance management systems is a plus.
Required Experience:
-Previous experience in student loan servicing, financial counseling, or a similar role.
-Knowledge of federal loan servicing platforms and forgiveness program application systems.
