A quality applicant needs to have demonstrated experience working on solar PV projects and have a strong interest in supporting the rapid expansion of solar in our region.
Responsibilities:
Complete initial preliminary engineering in coordination with our project development team for solar projects entering full development phase including initial electrical designs for utility interconnection applications and permitting packages.
Collaborate with our team in interfacing with the utility on utility interconnection technical feasibility reports and screening criteria.
Complete system designs for solar projects including: site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, three-line electrical drawings, specification of BOS location and interconnection details, and labeling.
Provide technical design information for the projects described above to the permitting and interconnection admin teams as needed.
Interface with and provide streamlined project information to the procurement and construction workers.
Understand the optimal design applications and design limitations of our standard products and lead the evaluation of alternate products as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university in engineering or related field
At least 3 years experience designing/engineering PV systems both residential and commercial
NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification, or completion during employment.
Possesses working knowledge of current National Electrical Code.
Proficient using PVSYST
Experience with AutoCAD required.
