Dedicated to providing guests with exceptional service, the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City at Beverly Hills evokes a unique combination of understated elegance and modern luxury.Your day to dayJOB OVERVIEW:Assist the Conference/Conventions team in the day to day servicing of conference and/or convention and rooms only groups.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to handle and monitor events/groups not to exceed, 2-3 days of event space or 100 attendees per booking.

Welcome group contact upon arrival at function and ensure satisfaction.

Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space and hotel services approved departmental booking guidelines. Confirm in writing to the client and all affected hotel departments all group requirements via sales contract terms, attrition, addendums, and confirmation of pricing group resume, and or banquet event order.

As needed, assist the client in menu planning, food and beverage coordination, attendee direction to meeting space.

Set-up, group room blocks for groups with event space and for rooms only groups and VIP services

Work in a timely manner to create and distribute all Banquet Event Orders (BEO) to the operations

Check function room set ups prior to guest arrival, ensuring all details are in agreement with client’s requirements. Ensure deficiencies are corrected by appropriate personnel.

Attend daily Banquet Event Order (BEO) and other meetings as assigned.

Promote team work and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Coordinate details with other departments such as VIP amenities, special requests, or other service needs or special handling.

Perform other duties as assigned.

This job has a high degree of direct guest contact and interaction while groups are in-houseWhat we need from youQualifications and Requirements:Some College plus 1-2 years sales marketing related experience in hotel or meeting planning, catering preferred.This job requires ability to perform the following:

Frequently standing up and within and outside of the facility

Type at least 50 wpm; proficient PC computer skills Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds

Communicating with customers, employees, and third parties

Use a keyboard to generate correspondence, reports, etc.

Handling objects, products and computer equipment

Other:

Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with clients and guests.

Reading and writing abilities are utilized often.

Basic math skills are used frequently.

May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
