The Director, HR Legal and Compliance serves as head of the HR Compliance function and oversees a team ofcompliance specialists. The Director leads HR compliance-related initiatives and projects and supports andpromotes the successful achievement of Cedars-Sinai's mission, vision, values and objectives by promoting andsupporting Cedars-Sinai's compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws, including, but notlimited to, equal employment opportunity and wage and hour laws and regulations. As head of the compliancefunction the director oversees the independent contractor analysis function, government reporting (for example,AAP), the review, updating and education related to HR policy changes, and the executive and managementemployment services agreements programs. The Director develops and conducts legal compliance training asneeded. The Director provides employment and regulatory law consultation and advice to Human Resourcesprofessional staff and Cedars-Sinai management staff and assists with separation agreements as needed.Educational Requirements:Doctorate degree, Juris Doctor required.License/Certification:Licensed attorney, member of CA Bar in good standing required.Experience:10 years of demonstrated employment litigation experience representing large,complex organizations either in-house or as outside counsel required.Experience with health care employers strongly preferred. Recentexperience must include representation within California.10 years of experience with and thorough current knowledge of relevant state andfederal employment laws and regulations required.
