SUMMARYMetrolink seeks an enthusiastic and driven individual with an interest in digital marketing and partnerships to join the Metrolink Internship program. The Intern - Marketing and Partnerships will support our social media and corporate partnerships team by:

Contributing ideas and executing social media content for Instagram and TikTok

Formulating social media copy according to best practices for various platforms

Assisting with remote location video shoots

The Metrolink Internship program is a unique opportunity for current college students to gain real-world experience, work with industry leaders, and exercise practical application of academic studies within a department of interest.Our interns work closely with our team members to develop innovative solutions that help us deliver a better service to our customers. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, hard-working, and creative. They will demonstrate a professional demeanor, work well with others, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.PROGRAM TERM: This position will be limited to working no more than 19 hours each workweek. Hours may increase for short periods of time but may not exceed 40 hours in a work week, and any hours that exceed the 19 hours must be approved in advance. The internship may continue as long as the student is enrolled in school and the total hours worked each fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) do not exceed 999 hours.TO APPLY: This is a continuous recruitment, with the first review of applications beginning September 14 , 2023. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe duties listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities:

Create short-form video content for digital channels (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.)

Use social media tools to schedule content and communications.

Use social media tools for data analytics purposes, including channel and post-performance, paid social media metrics, and more.

Monitor user-generated content and engage with content providers by providing feedback and incentivizing them with a trial ride promotional code(s).

Attend Marketing and communications meetings and contribute to campaign planning, development, and execution.

Use web applications (for example, Canva) to create social media graphics and basic animation as needed.

May perform a variety of administrative support duties such as conducting research, gathering data, preparing spreadsheets, copywriting, and other similar functions.

Use a computer or mobile device to perform job-related tasks as needed.

Prepare written communications.

Give verbal presentations.

Evaluate programs and processes to recommend improvements.

Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSEducation and Experience

Internship candidates must be currently enrolled in a college, university, educational institution, vocational school, or program with a degree in digital marketing, public relations, business, marketing, advertising, or a related field and demonstrate a commitment to public service and our shared values.

Eligible to work in the United States as determined by the U.S. Immigration Laws.

Valid Class C Driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record of no more than three moving violations and no DUI’s within the last three years.

Physical Requirements

The transition between a stationary position at a desk or work location and move about Metrolink facilities or other work site locations.

Operate tools to perform the duties of the position, such as computers, office equipment, and work-related machinery.

Transport equipment or boxes up to 25 lbs.

Exchange ideas by means of communication.

Visual acuity to detect, identify, and observe employees or train movement and any barriers to movement when working on or near railroad tracks.

Hear and perceive the nature of sounds when working on or near railroad tracks.

Balance, ascend/descend, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch, or crawl within assigned working conditions and or locations.

WORKING CONDITIONSThe position requires work in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature. Work may also be conducted in outdoor environments, at construction sites, Railroad Track and Right-of-Way environments, and warehouse environments, with possible exposure to individuals who are hostile or irate, moving mechanical parts, and loud noises (85+ decibels, such as heavy trucks, construction, etc.)SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATIONSelection Process:Following a review of resumes and/or applications, the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the selection process.
