JOB DESCRIPTION
The Media and Marketing Writer Intern contributes to ONC’s mission by creating clear, engaging short-form content across the
Media and Marketing Department. This intern supports Care to Converse writers, Thursday Terminology writers, podcast description
writers, and other department-wide content needs. The role focuses on turning research, discussions, and ideas into concise writing
that captures attention without losing accuracy or substance. The intern will work with writers, podcast producers, designers, and
department leadership to ensure content reflects ONC’s voice and nonpartisan mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Write and revise short-form content for projects across the Media and Marketing Department.
Support Care to Converse content with concise copy, summaries, prompts, and promotional material.
Help develop Thursday Terminology posts that explain civic, political, and policy terms in accessible language.
Write and edit podcast episode descriptions, titles, summaries, and promotional copy for publishing platforms.
Adapt ideas and longer source material into short, engaging captions, scripts, blurbs, and audience-facing copy.
Proo for clarity, grammar, tone, factual accuracy, and consistency with ONC’s mission.
Collaborate with team members, incorporate feedback, and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
