Description We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Medical Coder to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you'll be responsible for accurately coding patient information for insurance claims, databases, and to maintain patient's medical and treatment histories. The Nurse must either be an RN or LVN. Responsibilities: 1. Assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes to patient medical records. 2. Reviewing and interpreting medical information and diagnostic results. 3. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and maintaining knowledge of guidelines and coding rules. 4. Communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses or obtain additional information. 5. Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and correct any discrepancies. 6. Maintain strict patient confidentiality as per HIPAA regulations. Requirements 1. Current and valid Registered Nurse License or Licensed Vocational Nurse 2. Certification from AHIMA or AAPC as a Certified detail oriented Coder (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) or Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) 3. Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, and treatment procedures. 4. Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and coding software. 5. Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. 6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
